The Phantom Dunzo or: How I am Blind

Before we get into how blind I am, a trade...From corozco at the Trading Card Database...I parted with...

2015 Topps, Clayton Kershaw

2015 Topps - Highlight of the Year, Nolan Ryan

and 2015 Heritage, Yimi Garcia/Melvin Mercedes.

and I got back...

2012 Panini Prizm, Ozzie Smith. Yet another Ozzie to tick off the list.

and 2015 Gypsy Queen, Bill Mazeroski. Now this is a short print, but I'm not chasing them for the set, Gypsy Queen is dunzo!, corozco just happen to have it and I hard cards he wanted that nobody else was offering anything for. So, yeah. Justification.

Thank you to corozco for a great trade!

Now onto the phantom dunzo...Over the past month, I've spent a good portion of this blog talking about 2012-13 Panini, long story short: I bought a rack pack box off eBay for super cheap, got a lot of great cards, lots of doubles and a Dirk relic. On the base set front I was 299/300 for the set. The card in question that I was missing was #141 Richard Hamilton...

Well, recently I was putting the set into order, as card collectors do, you know and low and behold, Richard Hamilton popped up! He was at the very bottom of the stack, so that means he was the very first card I got out of the box. So, I guess I simply didn't tick his box on the collection on the Trading Card Database's site and moved on. It's been known to happen, I did it earlier this year with a box of 1992 Ultra, I thought I was one off from all of Series 2, but when I put them order, I had them all. Life is strange like that, or I simply don't grasp the concept of clicking boxes.

There we have it. 2012-13 Panini is officially dunzo! My first basketball set complete, which is pretty cool for how cheap I got it. $26, the complete set, lots of doubles to trade...Hell, I ran it all down in a previous entry, if you wanna see, head back a few.

Now for a note about this blog...It will be pretty light for the foreseeable future and will probably run based on what trades I can get made. The reason being: video game season is upon us. We've already had major releases like Metal Gear Solid 5 and Forza 6 drop, but in the next few months we also have Fallout 4, Star Wars Battlefront, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Just Cause 3, Halo 5 and WWE 2K16, just to name a few. Most importantly, Rock Band 4 comes out too, which I just dropped a $130 on the pre-order for. So yeah. Things will be tight around here. Maybe another Panini box that is cheap on eBay, maybe. I'm still on the fence with 2015 Topps Update, with the set being expanded to 400 cards, a normal hobby box would mean I would have to make a good amount of trades just to complete it, and a jumbo hobby box is $100, which with all those games coming out is going to be rough.

F*ck. I need to play and win the lottery.

  1. Do you know if the new Battlefront will allow for single player playing? I've asked on the Battlefront Facebook page numerous times and was ignored each one. I have no interest in playing online, only by myself. I have not purchased any new games or systems in about a decade but Battlefront may make me change that...

    1. From what I've read there is a single player mode, the other people on your squad would be AI controlled. There's also a local co-op via split screen and the usual online multiplayer.

Battlefront is high on my list to get, it looks great. But with how long Fallout 4 supposedly is, it might have to wait.
